The difference we have made

Our impact & commitment to the future

We believe in quality natural materials, craftsmanship, and creative expression. In order for us to continue to immerse ourselves in these pursuits, and allow future generations to have the same opportunity, we do the best that we can to leave the world in a better place than in which we found it.

Protecting that which matters most

Nature deserves the same care we pour into our craft

A craftsman is nothing without the wood they carve, an artist is nothing without the natural landscape they paint. That is why we do our best to eliminate non-recyclable materials, support sustainability projects, carefully select our partners, and remove or reduce the use of plastic both in the products we offer, their packaging, and when shipping them to our customers.

We continue to work with our partners to reduce both their, our, and your impact on people and planet. From the creation and the making of each product, the storage and shipping of each box, to the use of and finally the discarding and recycling of every product. Due to our careful curation process, most of our products are 100% natural and 100% recyclable, with many that will last for decades if used with care.

There is always room for improvement. What we want to do and what is possible are not always aligned. Improvements and solutions to the problems we face takes time. We do what we can to do our part, and hopefully show that sustainability doesn’t have to come at the expense of quality, design, and craftsmanship.

Help us reach our goals and make a real-world impact!

Planting trees helps to restore forests, and creates lasting natural, biodiverse ecosystems. Every tree planted contributes to a greener environment and a healthier planet for future generations. Join our community forest to be a part of our reforestation journey and see the effect your contribution has in the real world.

Making a difference together

Why we partnered with Treeapp

Treeapp is one of the UK's leading tree-planting organisations, empowering businesses to plant trees where they are needed most. As a certified B Corp, every decision is guided by one principle: the right tree, the right place.

With millions of trees planted, Treeapp has created over thousands of workdays for local communities. Hundreds of native and non-invasive species are carefully selected based on location, soil, and ecological need - ensuring every tree is planted with purpose.

Every project is mapped to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and monitored through satellite imagery, ground surveys, and survivability tracking. This delivers lasting environmental, social, and economic benefits in some of the world's most vulnerable environments and communities.

Treeapp is also a member of 1% for the Planet and the United Nations Decade of Restoration, and has received personal recognition from Sir David Attenborough for its contribution to global reforestation.

"What makes this partnership so meaningful is the care and intention behind it. Every tree we plant - whether restoring threatened ecosystems, protecting coastlines, or bringing nature back to local communities - is chosen for maximum impact. This is exactly what the right tree, the right place looks like in practice."

Sustainable warehousing & fulfilment

Why we work with Quivo

Our search for a sustainable warehousing, logistics and fulfilment partner took a considerable amount of time. We evaluated more than a handful of options, rejecting them mainly due to unjustifiable use of plastics in the shipping process when other paper based alternatives are available (such as plastic bubble wrap or plastic void filler). Eventually, we settled on working with Quivo.

The warehouse in Germany where we store and ship all of the products we offer is a modern facility which has solar panels on the roof to help power the operations, and is also German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) Gold Certified, a global benchmark for sustainability that takes into account the full lifecycle of a building, including construction and day to day operations.

Quivo is committed to going as plastic free as possible, only using paper based filling material for packaging, which is completely biodegradable. They work with local manufacturers for their cardboard shipping boxes, which are produced regionally and are only a short distance from the warehouse.

We have also instructed them to not use any plastic packaging tape and instead use our branded paper tape instead. If your package arrives with plastic packaging tape please take a photo and email it to us at hello@justmoss.eu so that we can send your feedback to our warehouse so that it doesn’t happen again!

While Quivo is as green of a fulfilment partner as one can find, that doesn’t mean that we have no impact, we do. We do our best and take the necessary steps to minimise our impact, and why we make the choices that we do.
